Centering the Experience of LGBTQ+ in Spiritual Direction

Centering the Experience of LGBTQ+ in Spiritual Direction is a workshop designed to help spiritual directors journey well with directees with LGBTQ+ experiences. In our sessions we will discuss the unique lane of spiritual direction in this conversation, the essential awarenesses and curiosities necessary for spiritual direction with LGBTQ+, and harvesting the Fruit of the Spirit in the lives of our directees. A more detailed syllabus will be provided for participants after registering.

Woven through all of the topics will be opportunities for personal reflection, prompts for identifying your own counter-transferences, and opportunities for consultation. Sessions will not be video recorded.

Instructor: Julie Barrios is the Founder of Nuos Formation. She has been practicing spiritual direction for nearly 20 years, for the last 12 years in San Francisco, CA. Julie also trains and supervises directors. Of great importance to her is her life as an artist and generalized creative, all requiring the cultivated practice to the presence of Grace moment by moment.
