About
Many with vocational callings in the business world feel unsure of how they fit into the broader redemptive story of Christ. Most have at times, received messages ranging from business is evil to your business exists to fund mission projects. We believe there is a far more holistic, redemptive and dynamic calling for those in business. The journey of the business person, when lived in the Spirit, proves to be a transformative experience for the individual, for colleagues, and all others touched by the business ecosystem. For this reason, spiritual directors best serve this demographic when exposed to and aware of this particular pilgrimage. This cohort equips directors with some of the basic foundations of this pilgrimage: exploring a theology of economics, introducing them to key business vocabulary and concepts, helping them connect the dots between contemporary models of business leadership formation and classical models of spiritual formation.

About the Instructor
Julie Barrios
Spiritual direction is my primary craft. I hold an MA from the Institute for Spiritual Formation at Talbot School of Theology and a certificate in Ignatian Spiritual Formation from the Loyola Institute (the spiritual director training affiliated with Loyola Marymount University). In 2006 I began a year long supervisors apprenticeship with the Institute for Spiritual Formation and trained directors there until I moved to San Francisco in 2013 to take the role as Minister of Spiritual Formation at Reality SF. There I built and oversaw our lay pastoral care ministry, designed with an emphasis in the spiritual direction modality. I currently specialize in spiritual direction and consulting with founders and C-suite executives.
